Tor Browser LIES about being the latest version. I had a very good discussion over at the forum for Tor Browser about this situation. Tor Browser ONLY tells the truth about new versions AFTER you Connect To TOR. Otherwise, forget it. Would this be difficult to fix? Of course not. I asked the forum WHY this lying is allowed. Is there ANY benefit to users to be lied to? Is there some useful reason to ONLY provide updates when connected to the TOR network? The answer of course is NO. There is NO reason for Tor Browser to LIE to its users. This is dopey user abuse and coding laziness. It knocks off a star rating for me. Shameful.

What's going on with the numbering? v11.5.6 insists it's up-to-date. When I attempt to install 11.5.7, macOS insists that 11.5.6 is the NEWER version. Doing a Get Info on 11.5.7, it appears that someone screwed up the date listings inside the app back to 1999 and 2000. That's flummoxing the auto-updater inside the app. IOW: It's a coding blunder. What to do? You decide. Hopefully, they'll fix up the blunder ASAP.

After 40 minutes of trying, I haven't connected to anything.

Still only Intel? is this just for the current Mac Pro only? You know that will be changed this coining fall so you better make it Universal or better soon, the clock is ticking!

v10.0.8 is out, BUT! Do not bother downloading it!!! The DMG is NOT a DMG. Instead it's a ISO 9660 (Rockridge) optical disk formatted volume which macOS will mount but will NOT OPEN. That makes the thing worthless. Some dummy over at the project will have to clean up their mess. Watch for 10.0.9!

I have used Tor Browser over the past couple of years! A relative of mine suggested it to me and was a former FBI agent. No hassle, no ads, just a clean way to browse! My only concern is that it is somewhat slower than some browsers, but if someone wants a great way to browse without all the hassle, Tor Browser is it!
