Thunderbird

Using a Mac, one on Catalina, the other on System 14 on an M1 chip. Can't get either one to work. Whan I enter my *correct* user ID and password to tell it to use iCloud, it comes back saying that my credentials aren't accepted. One commenter on another forum said to erase the account and restart TB. How does one erase an account? Another commented that one should delect ~/.thunderbird. There isn't one on either of my machines. I really want to replace Mail. Won't you please help?

Has the fixed compose window issue been fixed for V115.0? Any other comments to share?

Mozilla has tried to create a new problem for its users. The compose window for sending an email now has a fixed position on the screen. This window can no longer be moved around the screen. It is simply impossible to disable this feature. Now I am really thinking about finding an alternative to Mozilla Thunderbird, because this "innovation" is a very significant problem.

Maybe you reconcile it to Universal ! If you get a Mac mini and Xcode you reconcile for Universal easily , if you write in C!

Recent versions (90.0+) are highly unstable - a few weeks back it took me several days to rebuild my email library (150k emails [no attachments] spanning 20 years of work); new install, complete rebuild, then pow, same problem - crashes on start - start all over again. have been long time user, unwilling to use Apple Mail and looking now for alternatives to TB)

It's good that this app gets updated frequently. But the interface still looks so archaic.

TB 78.10.0 doesn't run on Big Sur (11.2.3)! I got an info-message: Your system doesn't meet the requirements to run Thunderbird. the requirements: Mac Operating Systems macOS 10.9 macOS 10.10 macOS 10.11 macOS 10.12 macOS 10.13 macOS 10.14 macOS 10.15

Nice and secure

I switched to Thunderbird many years ago after Apple Mail stopped working for me on my email account. I really like it, but miss the functionality of a "send later" plug-in for email messages. I hope a developer can update that in the future as it's quite useful!

I have been using it for three years. Love the integration with calendar and contacts. Search function works well.

Habe mich dagegen entschieden, da man die Konten und Ordner nicht aus der Vorgängerversion transferieren kann. Sie alle neu zu erstellen, ist mir zu viel Arbeit. Insofern bin ich sehr enttäuscht über dieses no go.

It does everything I need. Never had a problem. Regular updates. Somewhat clunky but heck it's just email.

Glad to see TB back in development. it could use some minor tweaks, though. The text in the main window is much too small, it would be nice to see it adjustable for farsighted folks. And the process for adding calendars is still cumbersome, and even broken. It isn't easy to add iCloud calendars or even Google Calendars (that option is completely gone). Hopefully this will be fixed soon. And I am completely amazed at all of the people complaining about the update to v78. Did none of you even bother to read the release notes? Might help. I like Thunderbird especially v68.x due to all extensions and internal features.. but v78, if you don't use PGP (who really use PGP..?), seems to be for me at least a kind of "kickback" : a lot of features aren't no more available and customizing TH78 is more restricted. Furthermore still not possible to change the font size of messages list, all Retina Macusers know what I mean. It's a pity that's not implemented again; old third party extension doesn't work since a long time. Updating TH68 database to TH78 seems also not easy.. Finally looking for another Mac email solution in the near future. But not for Apple's email client.
