It is indeed one of the best of desktop publ. applications like Derekcurrie says. But I'd say also that it is The Best Desktop Publ. for Mac, for home based and for some professional use as well. Another best deal of all applications is of course GraphicConverter. And some even more: ImageFramer, Trickster, XnConvert, Copy'Em, Keep It, Noto (in App Store only, highly recommend btw...)
v5.6.9 is out. (There were no public v5.6.7&8). Release Notes: "Bug fixes and minor improvements." This app continues to be one of the best deals for Mac. - -> BTW: I scanned the current 2022 manual for malware. It's clean. The malware referred to by Fsckthemembership! below is specific to Adobe Acrobat and Reader, as per: https://cve.mitre.org/cgi-bin/cvename.cgi?name=CVE-2018-12856
I have used this program for a number of years and I love it. I edit 4 newsletters for dog clubs locally and one nationally. I started using it when Adobe InDesign became too expensive. Until this version it has been nearly as good as InDesign. For some reason I can no longer edit a Word document and drop it into Swift with edits intact. I now have to edit within the program, which really wastes time. I have the current Word program. Wondering if this is because of the latest OS upgrade... (Warning: I am just a user and not versed in the technical stuff). Thanks!!
FYI - WARNING -> "Img.Exploit.CVE_2018_12856-6723836-0" <- WARNING. This was found after scanning the downloadable Swift Publisher Manual with ClamXAV. It's possible this is a 'false' positive however, the manufacture should make a comment and/or correct the issue!
UH OH! I don't know what's going on but: The link MU forwards to is NOT what it's supposed to be. uBlock Origin points out it's some other odd website and warns not to connect to it. PLUS! The latest version is actually: Swift Publisher v5.6.4. SO! This is where to get the very latest update.... Download the 'trial' at: https://www.swiftpublisher.com/
I tried and tested Affinity. Awful piece of software. Functions, features are scattered all over the place. They make it look as "top-of-the-line" application, but it is really not. Their black background makes affinity look alluring appealing and exciting. It's an illusion. SWIFT publisher beats affinity in ease of use, in logical placements of every tool and features. Many features in affinity are repeated all over the place under different names, to fool the user. In addition affinity is also very very slow. SP is definitely The Best.
Does not work on Mac M1 with Big Sur for "blank" items; cards, notes, business cards, etc. Developer says they are aware of the issue and are working on it. Why sell something that you say works on M1 and then it doesn't?
The new version is v5.5.8 (4676). It replaces v5.5.8 (4675). IOW, it's a new build number by one increment. Yes, this makes the update obscure to mere humans. Blame the developers.
I owned the suite of individual applications for years and loved them. things just worked.
I bought Swift Publisher and now lots and lots of functions are just GONE.
The Envelope function is almost unusable compared to Labels and Addresses. I have not been able to print to DVD media since I switched. I NEVER use this application. It just doesn't work like it should.
Very interesting app, excellent value for money, I have been using it for a long time (from version 2) I have never had problems the developers are very helpful, I recommend it.
GUI is nice, way to much functions. but if you see on small things, this software has only a very limited use. For example take look on DYMPO Label - non of them works out of the box -> All the labels have switched the width and height in the roll. I have informed the vendor about that - before many month ago and I have ask them 20 times about the progress - alway the same response: Thanks for your feedback - We're still working on this issue...
better pay more for professional developer
v5.5.2 is out. I like it. Release notes: • Swift Publisher can now open documents created in Business Card Composer. • Support for label printers added: DYMO, Zebra, Brother, Seiko, Primera.
BeLight Software, the makers of Swift Publisher, were the folks who created the terrific Labels & Addresses, but let it die with its last 32 bit incarnation. But SP is every bit as good if not better. Its even more intuitive, easy to use and completely customizable. If you've been searching for a replacement for Labels & Addresses, this is literally it.
This app needs to SPEED UP. I'm waiting for the spinning wheel to stop for nearly a minute every time I choose something. Why is it taking sooooooo long to do anything?
And, although I've used this app on several occasions in the past and assumed I would be familiar with it, I'm finding it extremely difficult to use now. It's not a user-friendly app at all. I'm so confused most of the time why things aren't happening.
It's gotta go .... very sorry!
