What has got into Spotify? When it has been up and running, and I try to close it the normal way, it won't close, unless I do it "the hard way", i.e. force quit it. Despite updates, it still behaves like that.

Save yourself the hell (IMHO) of Spotify's remarkably awful desktop software and only connect to them via web browser. Then of course, clean out their surveillance and marketing crap by cleaning your browser cache and cookies when you're finished.

I often use the Spotify app on my MBP but I think the user interface could be much improved. It should function more in line with finder and enable me to select multiple songs and drag them into an existing playlist for instance. Or be able to select multiple playlists and place them on top of the playlists list. The same improvement suggestions also apply to iTunes / Music app BTW when it comes to playlist handling. I also would appreciate to be able to select themes / colors for Spotify app.

A few days ago, I would say Spotify is the best music and podcast app. But the changes to the library system are so bad that I am very disappointed after system updates. Everything just turned into a jumbled list of everything I followed.

Tried Apple Music for free but after the trial I wend back to Spotify. The UI is just has a better workflow to me.

As a streaming service, it's just okay, but the auto run at login happens even when set to NOT do that. It's not that good to put up with poor programming and even worse testing.

Am I old or does this app suck? I find the interface hard to figure out, and I'm pissed at the way it auto-launches every damn time regardless of how many times I ensure it's NOT a login item.

I love the service, but hate the app. It's the slowest app I've ever used on macOS—and this is on a 1-year-old computer with and without hardware acceleration turned on. I give the app two stars because it has so many features you can't find on the horrible web player. But I really wish we'd see a complete rewrite using actual Apple HUD elements instead of a slap-dash port of the Windows code. But of course, when they change chips, they'll have to rewrite again and fat chance that'll happen anytime soon. I wish they'd just make APIs and let third party developers create their own competing apps for the service.

I have the latest version of Spotify Premium & I absolutely LOVE IT SO MUCH!!!!!! It's my main source of entertainment & the best feature is that you can add songs to the queue depending on what you feel like listening to at the time! I have over 2000 songs. Listening to my favourite music is the best thing I love about life! 5 Stars! From Angie Wilkin Auckland, New Zealand :)

Spotify is forbidden on my Macs. Here's why: It's rare to find a more invasive application. Spotify has FORCED macOS to open the app absolutely every time you boot your Mac. The only solution is to DELETE the application. I've dug around in the Library folders to kill off all traces of daemons, automatically loading processes, login items, ad nauseam. And yet, somehow Spotify found another method of FORCING Spotify to boot with the OS. Therefore: VERBOTEN! If a developer is this ABUSIVE of their users, their software has no place on my devices. Gone. A big [expletives deleted] to Spotify for creating the worst app I've used so far in 2018. Congratulations. Disturbing.
