I tried the calculations below and Soulver gives the correct answers ! Example: 7517712 is what percent of 61068131 Soulver answer: 12,310368562 % Thats correct !!! So far, I have not encountered a wrong answer.

This app is USELESS! It never gives correct answers for anything. Today's question: 7,517,712 is what percent of 61,068,131 Answer: 61.068M WRONG!!! Google gave me the CORRECT answer for FREE: 12.3103686% Recent questions: 1.5 tsp divided by 24. Answer: 36. WRONG!!! 1.5 tsp divided by 5 equals. Answer: 7.5 tsp. WRONG!!!

The latest version is Soulver 3, but "Soulver" 2.7.1 is superseded by "Soulver 2" version 2.9.0.

This is where the Apple App Store really irks me. I have the App Store version of Soulver and its crashing on launch. The App has been updated to version 2.6.7 but not on the App Store. I’m left with a crashing app because I can't update my version. This has become beyond tedious.

Been using this a 2-3 times a month for two years. Replaces simple spreadsheet calculations, and it is a joy to use. Bulletproof. The UI is a little threadbare but it is still perfectly usable. I would miss this app if it were gone.

After testing out a few text calculators, I find the Soulver the easiest to use with the best interface at the moment. It provide complex functions for advanced user but it's easy for beginners to utilize it’s basic functions to save a lot of time. The ledge format calculation allows bulk entry to perform calculations which saves a lot of time compared to entering each number one at a time on a traditional calculator. I would have gave it a higher score if the interface had a more up-to-date modern interface design.

Simple interface without bright trendy colors, but the app manages the calculations perfectly. I use it very often when need to do count some thing. Great feature is managing with currencies. I think, Soulver is better than a traditional calculator, indeed. It's more functional. I suppose, it's a one of a basic tools for macs.

Would really like it if we could change the background color so we can have a "dark" calculator. Right now it seems as though this is an oversight. Am I missing some obscure option @developer?

I love this thing. Use it a lot, so much better than teh plain old boring Apple calculator.

Thanks for adding iCloud sync. I typically only like using Dropbox sync when its a document that would ideally reside in a folder. Soulver is more of a unique take on a calculator and most people don't necessarily think of a calculator creating and managing documents. Awaiting the refreshed iPhone and iPad apps.

I was a big fan of this app for a long time. Now I think Numi (http://www.macupdate.com/app/mac/41550/numi) is full enough for all my calculations. It five times cheaper and always available over hotkey. Anyway, good app.

Clever idea. I didn't saw this combination before. BTW any luck lowering the asking fee? It is just to expensive.

This gets 5 stars for the price and innovation. It is like a really good basic scientific calculator with a tape running so you can record your session. I think the idea comes from texas graphic calculators et al who already do this but costs a lot more than 25 bucks (of course still they can do a lot more than soulver currently). ASCII sucks to do math with and to buy software which handles equations costs a lot more money. This does not handle most algebra out with the basics. If this is your only need I would look elsewhere. But at $25 it is not meant to do all that anyway. It does really well all the same with powers and functions. Request to developer allow me to make the white background black (with transparency option) please. The highlighting is great but this is missing. I prefer this to a calculator on OSX for all those little calculations. It starts out you hate it but then love it. It is one of those you need to keep using to get into. Speed wise it is very fast much faster than messing with clicking icon buttons. You can also grab the expressions and put them in your notes quickly as it is just ascii. If maths is your thing have a play.....

Soulver has found a permanent place in my dock and I haven't quit the application since I purchased it. I grew up using multi-line calculators and loved being able to see and verify my work without having to rekey everything. The multi-line window was my main motivator for checking out the program but I'm finding more uses for it every day. Lately I've been planning vacation expenses across a few countries with different currencies and I am able to see line by line how much everything is costing in US dollars. Exchange rates are automatically imported and updated.

The calculator done right. Very nice app. Hm why not using International preferences for decimals and thousands ?
