Smart Scroll

I downloaded and opened it but there was absolutely no access to it. Was not visible as an open app, was not in the window menu, not visible in dock, not visible when using application switcher. I tried hard to find some way to access it and could not. Finally had to make it quit in Activity Monitor and then delete it. Was an update. I had paid for it with earlier versions.

I am using version 4.6.1 , the add other applications button always no response and can't open finder to add the applications I want

I am using version 4.6 and it doesn't have any effect on my OS no matter what I do. I am using OS 11.5.2

Hi Marc, 4.6 refuses to work, despite following all the tips and advice on your website. Even uninstalling and reinstalling doesn't solve the problem. 4.5.2 works perfectly, so I have had to reinstall and use that version. I am using Mojave 10.14.6.

I just installed version 4.6 released on July 29, 2021, and it shows unexpected problems on my iMac running Big Sur 11.5.1. The program can’t remember its status of ON – OFF, i.e., the first time I launch Safari for instance it scrolls well but then if I open another Safari page, scrolling smoothly stops as if it’s been switched off. I need to open “Smart Scroll” and switch it on and off to solve the issue but then again as soon as I open a third page it’s Deja vù once more. I even restarted my Mac serveral times but to no avail. I had to return to version 4.5 which functions flawlessly. Does anyone else experience this issue? Fariborz AMIRSHAHI – Verona (Italy)

Great app! Very smooth scrolling.

When I try to authorize it to work with Catalina I get a spinning beach ball for a short while then when I look for the pref pane in System Preferences it's nowhere to be found. Guess I'll just have to wait for an update.

Constantly nagging at me to buy it, when I already have. And not letting me log in my license

As I started reading more long form content on-line, I began my search for an "auto-scrolling" app. Smart Scroll works very well and lets me concentrate on my reading, not scrolling manually. I actually think it has improved my comprehension while increasing my reading speed. It'd be nice to find something like this for iPad.

I sometimes wonder how much software engineering has been put into this tiny software to make it run flawlessly with all the available hardware on the market. Add to this the variety of all other software that perform in the background and need tweaking to eradicate compatibility issues and, to top it all, consider all changes that Apple makes to its operating systems with each release. And yet, this small pearl has always kept its pace with the new changes and has never let me down. I can’t even remember when I paid for my last update fee. Unlike some other developers I don’t even need to pay for a subscription to benefit from its latest developments. The developer has always been courteous and generally answers my emails in a matter of hours should any issue happen. Years of continuous use has proved to me that it’s the best scrolling application for the Mac and surely second to none. I highly recommend it. Fariborz AMIRSHAHI - Verona (Italy)

When I restart or log out/in to my computer, version 4.4.8 will not automatically work. I have to go into System Preferences to manually switch on Smart Scroll. Same with version 4.4.7, so back to 4.4.6

4.4.7 refuses to work on my Mac running 10.14.6. It just won't start up. I followed all the instructions to the letter, and still Smart Scroll refuses to run. I have reinstalled version 4.4.6, which works.

Smart Scroll remains the best software that allows you to naturally grab, drag'n drop/scroll with a tablet and a stylus. To become perfect, it would take two things: - that it is less CPU-intensive; - that the Smooth Scroll option has the same scrolling fluidity as MOS.

This clearly shows his immense care and interest for all users who like me can’t live without this invaluable utility. If Smart Scroll doesn't open at login, or doesn't start, drag the helper application to the list of Login Items, in Users & Groups in System Preferences. Also drag it to the Privacy /Accessibility list, if needed. You can access the helper application by clicking on the ˇ sign on the upper right corner of the main Smart Scroll window.

Marc has made a silent update to v 4.4.3 and it now works as it should. Thanks for your quick response, Marc!
