Reeder overview
Reader is a news reader for the Mac with support for various sync services.
Reeder adds new features like:
- The new Bionic Reading mode
- An in-app Read Later service which syncs with iCloud
- Image previews in the articles list (finally)
- An image viewer
- Much improved article viewer
- More layout options, including automatic layout depending on window size
- Improved reader view
Navigate the app using gestures for a great reading experience. Customize shortcuts and gestures to fine-tune the app to your needs.

If you want to use a self-hosted service, Reeder should work with services which use the Fever or the Google Reader API. Or just standalone RSS (without syncing) if you don't want to use any service.

Almost perfect app! Unfortunately since "upgrading" to Mojave, I can't use the "add to reading list" feature which is a real shame. Hope the developer resolves this in the next update.

Wish I could rate Reeder higher, but Silvio Rizzi’s lack of interest in even responding to his customers really lets him down. Silvio seems to have taken a leaf out of David Watanabe’s book, a developer of the previously well loved RSS reader, NewsFire, what is it about RSS developers…?
Breezing through a huge list of news feeds is simple, it’s all made easy thanks to the keyboard shortcuts. The built in web scraper is great. But then the built in WebKit view is terrible.
Reeder has obviously had a lot of love in the past, but now it feels neglected, like Silvio has gotten bored of the project and quietly moved on.
The best thing would be for the developer to sell Reeder on to someone who will polish up the great application he’s already made. Please, Silvio, do it for us!

Fast and efficient, the developper has published a new version of Reeder that replaces the deprecated Readability with another parser.
He would certainly have avoided my profound disappointment and the my scathing review here below by pushing this update just a few days earlier and before the end of Readability's parser. Yes, a developper is just a human being after all, but my previous experiences with Rizzi's entirely inexistant customer relationship has exhausted my trust a long time ago…

Longtime user of the product, which I really like all in all.
Like others though I've been deeply frustrated by Silvio Rizzi's complete disinterest in his customers.
Now, despite Readability's announcement that they would shut down their service 6 months ago, Reeder still relies on it for its "reading" view; Readability's team was even good enough to link to an alternative. Your mileage may vary, of course, but for me that's the core feature of an RSS reader. So, well, if you want to be sure to have a product whose features don't disappear, and a developer polite enough to consider your requests worth an answer, I would recommend you just move on.

Brilliant app but the developer simply DOES NOT reply to any of my questions. I've been sending emails to mac@reeder.ch and I continue to be ignored.

Long time Reeder user on iOS and Mac. Not a huge fan of Feedly web interface so was happy to see that Reeder 2 for mac had been released. Love the simplicity of the interface and UI aesthetic.

I'm glad Reeder went away for awhile. Gave me the opportunity to tryout NewsBar. I can't see going back to Reeder now. The way NewsBar does things is just more conducive to my workflow.

Was a long-time user of Reeder (Mac and iOS), and even purchased Reeder 2 for iOS after having moved everything to Sunstroke following the Google Reeder shutdown. Despite Reeder's slick UI, I opted to stay with Sunstroke and will stick with ReadKit on my MacBook. My main gripe has to do with the relative lack of transparency from the developer. Bug reports and feedback to the developer go un-answered (an acknowledgement of receipt would be nice), and updates tend to be few and far between, leaving bugs and performance issues to linger for months. I've no problem paying for an upgrade to support Silvio but I need to know that support will be reciprocal.

Reeder is back. 2.0 is smooth, quick, easy to use. It was my old standby and it is once again my go-to news reader. I gladly purchased the new version. Silvio labored to develop the new Reeder and is deserving of our purchases. Ten bucks well spent.

Today Reeder 2.0 is out of beta so great news for Reeder addicts.
Well I was one but IMHO the dev Silvio Rizzi went nuts by asking money again for this update.
After withdrawing Reeder 1 from the MAS a year ago and a long silence we have a version 2 which brings not much new features except functionality to sync RSS again.

Actually running 2.0b7 here, dunno why MU is behind…
I, too, switched to ReadKit, which is a great app; but since 2.0b3, I've found Reeder plenty functional enough to once again handle my daily reading.
Nothing against ReadKit, it's a great app, but Reeder has always had a simple elegance that's unique. If Apple had designed an RSS reader, it would be something like Reeder.

Mmh.. kinda glad too.. but I moved to ReadKit since.. I feel like an old girlfriend is calling me back.. after leaving me without a word.. puzzled. You hurt me babe !
