Piezo

Hey all, I've purchased Audio Hijack which is also a Rogue product. Does this program do anything different? They're both from the same developer, so was curious. On the surface they appear to do the same thing.

This software is superb and I use it everyday for my recordings. I only wish it could record with a higher rate. The actual rate is not enough for my purposes. Thanks.

A very simple and straight-forward app to use to record audio.
I tested on some web conference presentations and it worked well, including auto stopping within about 10 seconds of silence at the end of conferences. (tested on Yosemite 10.10.5)
Re the settings, my ears found that aac sounded slightly better than mp3 (for equivalent bit rate). And that the conferences I recorded sounded slightly better at 128 kbs than 64 kbs (which had a bit of tinny sound). Though this will vary depending on what quality the web conference, or other source you use, is 'broadcasting'.
(Following the rule that, recording at a higher bitrate than what is broadcast or played back as, does NOT result in better audio.)

Lovely, simple, easy to use app with a user friendly interface. Best of all it doesn't require you to extra software for it to work. I would give it five stars if it allowed recording at 320 kbps (256 is the max), but if you're not recording music, this is the app to get. Great job.

Played with it a little (demo version). I had a real fun. Comprehensive and really easy to use app does what it promises to do. No bugs or issues discovered so far. Friendly UI(even for Mac newbies). This soft does its job. Though I am not going to spend money on this app.it is worth every penny from 20 bucks.

Those like me, who have bought their copy on AppStore and need the latest version for its fixes, can download a copy directly from Rogue Amoeba. Does not work, does not acquire any audio output from the system. OSX 9.5 with a Phonic Firefly 302 audio interface.

A good little app, only one feature I would like, being able to pause a recording instead of having to stop and start a new one. I owned Audio Hijack for years and since it's no longer supported and I can't use it with my Mountain Lion install, I was looking for something (didn't need Audio Hijack Pro (well, I could use it; but for me, the price isn't worth the extra features (most of which I don't need))) of equal audio quality and simple usability. I bought Piezo on a quick review and it's great, except for the lack of a "Pause" button. Beyond that, I like it a lot and have had no issues with it's output quality, setup or use. For $10, you're getting a great product!

Nice app. Works perfect. I noticed some dropouts of you try to records from cpu heavy apps.

I tried this in 10.6.8 and it works very well with no apparent CPU problem. I tried recording audio from my notation software that uses high-end samples too. The price is excellent.

Can't schedule a stream recording. I have to use Audio HiJack Pro for that. Don't see a use for this without that feature, although it's priced right.

A countdown timer before recording starts, analogous to Capture > Timed Screen in Grab for screen captures, would be a useful feature.
