I love the emulator and I have almost no compatibility issues. However, I'm trying to test out the emulator enhancer, which I'm willing to register for if it actually works, but for some reason, KiGB doesn't seem to recognize it. I followed the directions properly (I put the folder in the Application Support folder). I checked the About box on KiGB and it doesn't say "KiGB (with Emulator Enhancer)" as the instructions for emulator enhancer said it would. I'm running OSX 10.4 with version 2.05 of KiGB and version 2.4.0 of Emulator Enhancer. Does anyone know how to fix my problem?

So let's see...you've got a mature and stable emulation core with a high degree of compatibility. The only thing missing is the price tag. Richard, if you're listening (and I know you have a Real Life and a Real Job, so you probably aren't BUT) I'd pay for software of this quality.

I asked the author why I had to continually update their software and if they could do a software update program for their software to make the lives of their users much easier instead of having to download a new copy almost monthly, unstuff it and replace the old version. It gets even more complex with the Emulator Enhancer add on which also needs regular updates. This is the reply that I recieved when I voiced these concerns: "I see no need for automatic updating, as such a feature provides a whole lot of dead traffic to my web site - which has to be paid for - and is a relatively minor issue as anyone who looks at my web page can quickly see what the latest versions are." -Richard Bannister March 13, 2006 So all we, the users, are to the author is traffic. This concept of visiting a website would be a decent idea in the ideal world but must be a complete headache for the modem users, the people that lack a constant internet connection and the people who actually want to play these emulators. If the author desires so much traffic then maybe he can do so by providing some content on the webpage such as more information/help files/forums on the products he offers instead of forced updates. I want to run an application that works, not a car that needs tuneups, upgrades add ons and trips to get serviced.

This emulator is awesome. I use it mainly for the Pokemon games, and some Kirby and Wario games as well. Download it, you won't regret it! If you need commercial ROMs for this emulator, you can get them with Limewire, a free program that lets you download files

If your looking for a speed-up button try configuring the keyboard, I am almost positive it's there but it may not be. As for the speed sets if they are not already there, try to download Emulator Enhancer, which adds many features that one should not go without.

Works great. Handles any GameBoy or GameBoy Color game I could throw at it, and they all worked quite well. The only thing I wish is that the speed up funtion (that is, when you press a key to speed it up while you hold down the key) could go faster, or have an optional speed set..or is this based on processor speed or something?

Haven't seen (nor tested) a thing like this before ... but it looks like lots of fun ... and brings back the good feeling of the original GameBoy experience. I love that.

KIGB is the best GameBoy emulator for Mac OS X . It's better than Boycott because it has a higher compatibility (it can actually play Super Mario Land 2!), and it's better than Gnuboy because it has more features and is faster starting up. The only flaw? No code menu, like they had in Boycott. Still, nice job, Richard Bannister.
