iSmartPhoto overview
iSmartPhoto is a fast image browser and powerful image organizer. Unlike iPhoto, iSmartPhoto doesn't require you to manually import photos -- it automatically pulls your photos from any folder or drive. By just double clicking a single image in Finder or dragging a folder, iSmartPhoto automatically displays every image from the selected folder and its subfolders.
iSmartPhoto can automatically group your photos by modified date, image format, image size, file size, GPS location, rating, flag, tags, and EXIF information such as camera model, lens model, F number, exposure time, ISO, focal length, and IPTC information. iSmartPhoto natively supports all popular image formats like JPEG, TIFF, JPEG 2000, BMP, PNG, TAG, RAW, and any other image format supported by OS X.

I'm impressed. Innitially I posted a comment here, thinking that ISM can import everything from Photos. I figured out. It works like Unbound, CLEAN, SIMPLE and efficient. But still a little slow when opening a folder with many images. I'm worried that since August 2016 this program hasn't been updated. I might purchase the full version, but then what happens if it is already abandoned ???

Version: 1.7.6
V 1.7.6 is an improvement. I would like to see :
1. Rotations actually rotate original picture.
2. Update in viewer after an external editor is used.
3. When you delete a photo the browser does not return to its original location but to a much earlier date. Needs to be fixed.
4. A refresh button that would refresh any image and show it as it appears in the finder that has been modified.

WOW what an impressive piece of software. I went through Pixa, Inboard, Pixave and iSmartPhoto was the only one (besides Adobe Bridge) that could handle 3000+ AI, EPS and PSD files, without reading or importing issues. I am impressed. Well done guys.

I've been using the software for some months now and it is light and smooth to operate. It has become my first choice to view and organise photos.
Anyway coming from ViewNx 2, which I loved before they decided to ruin it, I miss some features that in my opinion are necessary and not difficult to incorporate in the next updates.
1. Filter jpeg only, raw only, unrated only
hope to see these changes in the next update :) even though I cannot find an email to communicate with them :(

Promising fast photo manager which offers great and flexible browsing options and looks sweet on Yosemite. Still needs some polish in certain areas, but for $3.99 photo enthusiasts on a budget cannot go wrong. My high rating factors in its excellent bang-to-buck ratio.
