Highbrow

Highbrow was designed to be the purest, simplest image browser possible--without window borders or buttons, without any interference in the visual feast of your photography. With Highbrow, you can look at photos as simply as looking at snapshots on your desktop. And now, in Highbrow 1.5, you can view movies alongside images in the same simple interface.

Too many photo apps are primarily photo editors, or photo organizers, and forget about the simple pleasure involved in looking through a collection of photos; they layer on so many palettes, that the space available for the photo is dramatically reduced. Highbrow, on the other hand, was specifically designed to focus on immersive photo viewing. Highbrow windows are proportional to the image they display, so there is no clipping. All you're looking at are your photos. Even the menu bar can be hidden if you want. It's still there when you need it, and click in the menu bar area, but otherwise it also gets out of the way. Load one window or many, with a visible browser or with only a single image displayed.
