Directly sync with Apple Calendar in read-only mode. Ideal for users with restricted third-party access to work accounts. New account option under Settings > Accounts > New Account > Apple Calendar
Dates in the Menu app have been redesigned for clearer visibility, making it easier to read the dates
Task list improvements. Task priorities can now be changed directly from the task list by clicking on the new priority drop-down button. Dates / times now display below the title so that more of your titles can show in a single line.
When sorting Task list by date, hovering your mouse over the date sections will display the number of days remaining until that date
Task list now shows indicators for embedded contacts, tags, locations, URLs and attachments. These can be optionally turned off from under Settings > Tasks
Task list can now display both a location name and a preview of notes, directly beneath the task title, for easier access and reference
New accessibility option to disable auto-enabling of calendars after a drag and drop
New option under Todoist Account Settings to hide tasks assigned to others
Now, when you drag and move multiple events, they'll shift based on their original dates. To move them all to the same date instead, hold down the shift key

All duplicated events are now automatically selected in the calendar
Improved handling of non-standard characters in parsed ics files
Fixed bug where the "Darken text" appearance setting stopped working

Still using version 3.12 and very happy with it. However with new subscription thing I will not upgrade. When 3.12 stops working I wll switch unless pricing is fixed. For non-business personnal use it is great but way too costly (a restricted version could be interesting, too).

And so your "subscription that's supposedly not a 'subscription'" expires, and, guess what, just a few weeks later the app you "purchased" no longer works at all with Outlook calendar. Right. Save you money and avoid this app, which for its limited feature set makes Adobe subscriptions look like a bargain.

Supposedly you "own" the app and get free updates for 18 months, and then have the privilege of paying again for another 18 months, and so on. They claim that's not a subscription, but that's exactly what it is. And if you don't pay to renew, the app keeps phoning home to remind you, multiple times each day (not just on launch), that you haven't renewed. Yes, it has nice features, but it's way, way overpriced when all these multiple subscription fees are required to use it in peace. Save your money and use something else. (And this is from someone who purchased both BusyCal and BusyContacts, but won't purchase anything from this developer again.

I love this app. It's much better than Apple's stock Calendar app. It even integrates better with Apple's Reminders than Apple's own Calendar app. The Smart filters are an especially useful feature. Plus this app uses a better payment model than Fantastical. After purchasing BusyCal, you get 18 months of support and updates and after that you still can use the app, even if you don't extend your license for another 18 months.

I used a cal by Calendar Man for years, but they stopped with OS 11. I had things that repeated on it for decades. I cal is ok but not fun to use.

Firstly! The price is expensive. There would be something to pay for. There are a lot of bugs, but they are never fixed. Only minor bugs are fixed. There are many problems with usability too. It seems that the developer deliberately creates errors and does not fix them, in order for us to use the program it would be inconvenient and we would have to wait for new updates in the hope that these bugs will be finally fixed. As if the developer is playing a tricky game with his users. Secondary! Using the program is inconvenient due to the presence of mocking bugs and shortcomings. So, by the way, most applications on the Apple platform. Some settings are impossible to change, and the default developer settings are terrible. As luck would have it! Thirdly! The default settings are not ideal. It takes a lot of time to work on the calendar settings. For the record, this is a drawback of all applications for Apple. In Windows 7, for example, just click next, next, next in the dialog box, and You be sure that everything will work perfectly. Because Windows applications are fine-tuned, and Apple applications are raw and of poor quality, like an eaten spoiled apple. Fourthly! The Support does not work at all. I have repeatedly written to the support about my ideas for optimizing the calendar, but not a single piece of advice was taken into account. The developer doesn't care about the consumer.

I have limited use for extra functionalities but I like the looks better than the built-in Calendar.app. However the subscription model that forces payment for bug fixes is not acceptable, thus the low rating.

many long years later of being a busycal and busycontact person, the subscription model it is too much for what little I need in updates or capability. Heck unfortunately for what little I need now in my job, Outlook or gmail works just as fine. CYA

In MOST ways BusyCal is awesome, the best calendar I could find (at the time I compared them all). But it has one INFURIATING flaw: it constantly harasses you to update it, and there's no way to turn it off. It's working fine, and I don't need to upgrade it now. I'd rather wait a year or so until there's some really compelling improvement. Even though I've set the update check period to a month (there's no way to turn it off) it nags me far more often. This is REALLY HORRIBLE UX, and an unforgivable strategy to persuade users to upgrade.

I really like the app. Just be careful with the purchase, after about 2 years they started nagging me I no longer will receive updates unless I pay again but a reduced price. I can keep using my exisiting version. This nagging lasted about 2 weeks.

BusyCal is one of those apps I considered for a couple of years before finally trying. There aren't a lot of Mac calendar-only apps out there. I ended up really, really liking it, and it's my main Mac calendar. Extremely powerful, syncs up my Apple Calendar and Google Calendars. Regularly updated too. If Apple Calendar is too basic for you and you don't want to pay $60/yr for Fantastical this app is what you want. It's about 90% as functional and pretty as Fantastical, but much, much cheaper with one-time purchase.

forcing the update, locking the data and then FAILING TO RESPOND TO MULTIPLE requests for support is irresponsible and basically extortion. ALL without any clear communicaiton. I was willing to pay the update but since you caused considerable damage, on principle I will not renew and try to make it as public as I can how disrepectful you are of your customers.

I really enjoyed the time with Busycal for years... Changing the license model without any upfront notice... I mean all of us bought a license years a go and now we have a 18 month subscription plan? WHAT A MESS
