Brackets overview
On September 1, 2021, Adobe will end support for Brackets. If you would like to continue using, maintaining, and improving Brackets, you may fork the project on GitHub.
Brackets is an Open-Source editor for Web design and development built on top of Web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript. The project was created and is maintained by Adobe, and is released under an MIT License.

Version 1.14.2:
- Open File in external Applications: Brackets now offers support to open file of any arbitrary type with external applications. In User Preferences settings, you can associate a file extension to open with the default associated application or open with a specific application
- Automatically associate Graphics file types to its OS default application: If an opened project folder has any graphics file of type: ["xd", "jpg", "jpeg", "svg", "ai", "png", "psd"], then with user’s consent Brackets will associate these graphics file types with its OS default associated application and record this under user preference settings under the category "externalApplications"

A bit sluggish on my “older” iMac but otherwise excellent. I’ve pieced together 50+ extensions from their library, essentially adding my favourite bits of functionality from other applications, right into Brackets. I’m very happy with this application.
But be wary—don’t install Adobe’s CSS Shapes Editor for Brackets extension. It will kill Live Preview in Chrome, and Live Preview is one of its big draws for me. The conflict is a known issue they’re working on it.

1.1 just came out. I downloaded it thinking Live Preview would work. Nope. It's still is not working. At least not as it comes configured after installation.
The new Extract plugin looks nice. I need to play with it and see how well that works.

Interesting enough that I will give it a try to compare to Komodo Edit as well as Dreamweaver CC. But from the start, disappointing that Adobe snubbed the Linux world (again) in this so-called crossplatform application... considering its from the core used it could have been very easily ported (or natively exported) to any Unix based environment.
