Seems to have been abandoned. Purchased a basic license, ran into trouble and had to reset the license. The button in the app to reset the license does not work. Email to disruptive inovations, no response. Bug report to bugzilla, not working anymore. Tried contacting Daniel Glazman on twitter, facebook and linkedin, he is active but will not rspond. 75 euro flushed down the drain and no help. Do not buy this software !!!

Wanted to try the last version but it doesn't even launch on my OS 10.9.5. :-(

The current version is 1.7.2, and by what you can read in their blog, BlueGriffon is in active development again! :-)

(OS 10.8.5) I've used BlurGriffon to create a number of sites. It works very well, does everything I need & is very easy to use. It does all the necessary stuff, like HTML 5, CSS 3, etc. Best of all, it's entirely editable & customizable, so you can create totally original sites any way you want. I've tried other site builders like RapidWeaver & WordPress that are far more difficult to use & limit your options, so their sites all look alike. BlueGriffon has templates, but it also gives you the tools to easily create custom pages as simple or as complex as you want, without any knowledge of code, while also letting you to edit the source code if you wish. Plus, BlueGriffon is completely FREE & open-source. I like to contribute to open-source providers who make great free software for regular people. There are also lots of available add-ons, tutorials & templates that are free or inexpensive compared to commercial apps. Can't go wrong by giving it a try..

I can see the potential. It would be better if there is a split-screen option so that coders can see the changes immediately. As Yavari said making a CSS script editor is not that expensive and Kompozer has it already for free. This makes you guys in a bad position if you guys want to be the best free website builder. Plenty of paid add-ons can only get you less customers because there are a lot of builders that such as RapidWeaver and KompoZer have already included those for free. Keep it up!

A promising program. It does feel like a bait and switch, though, in that the program is purportedly "free," but comes with a number of so-called "commercial add-ons." Kompozer, on the other hand, comes with many of the same features (like a built-in CSS editor) for free. The add-ons aren't terribly expensive in comparison with other web-design software, but if you're looking for truly "free," then Kompozer is the only way to go. It feels a bit like a bait and switch when you click on the CSS editor, only to have the application tell you that you need to buy yet another add-on. Feels a bit more like trialware than freeware, and should probably be labelled as something more like trialware.

Has the potential to be great. Still under active development.

Today I needed to do an easy webpage with some links to download .pdf files and decided to try this BlueGriffon. I have done the page quite easily. Some minutes of use were enough to see how sophisticated and powerful this is. Also a surprisingly modern and effective interface. Only problem is that you have to explore it by yourself since there is not a single page of documentation and not any kind of help files. I guess I will keep using this for an easy page now and then, for something more demanding I will keep using RapidWeaver at least until the BlueGriffon can give us something to read.

Has potential. There really needs to be a Project Manager to manage multiple pages and a way to make a menu bar.

With paid web editors, there's a wide variety of software - some quite pricey. The situation with free software, however, comes down to KompoZer and BlueGriffon. But it's clear that BlueGriffon has more current technology, as well as a user-friendly interface - even though their features are similar. Both use a WYSIWYG interface, and both are relatively easy to master. BlueGriffon, though, seems a bit more polished.

Colour me impressed! This is a great piece of Software and much better than one time a year updated and permanent-beta KompoZer. Well done!
