Affinity Photo

V2 is now more than good enough for me and is great value and was proud it was British BUT ... ... After Ash saying "We are not for sale" they have now sold out to Canva in Australia, there are promises that it will not change BUT ... ... Big corporations run by accountants always lie, I have bought many apps over the years and eventually they change or vanish once under new ownership, time will tell ... .. I hope I'm wrong and that I will be praising V3 if it is affordable and not just another subscription app where we all pay for the rest of our lives to put the owners kids through college while the staff from Serif lounge on a beach spending the profits of their hard work

Affinity is A Smoke in your eyes! I tried two years ago, and I tried to like it. After about one week of playing with it, I knew that it is an illusion. You get a false appearance and a false impression, and that under the deceptive influences from not so accurate reviews. Yes, the whole package is very well waxed and polished, to make it self-selling. The looks of Affinity are deceptive. Almost every feature is repeated in many places, under different category or menu. The black background strengthens the polished look and the deception. So I don't see nothing special in A., as most of its function can be found in Graphic Converter. I used to use Photoshop and P.Elements until they became subscription. I'd gladly today would purchase either of them. Both photoshops are way superior to Affinity in everything. No comparison at all.

Once a big fan of Affinity products and seeing forward to combat Adobe, now very disappointed. V1 still has a lot of bugs they don't fix, while selling V2 already with the same bugs + new ones – vanishing UI elements, crashing dragged tabs, buggy multi screen setups, brushes not showing etc. Once they started with a well driven support, nowadays they're not even replying. What's going on?!

V1.10.6 is out. "Bug fixes and stability improvements."

Generally love it and the integration of the apps is excellent but three years + of asking and still can't change the colour or width of the page guides in any of the three apps

I gave it another try. Too many features, many are duplicates of other similar features under fancy names. Tiny font, cumbersome interface. Also takes long time(5 seconds at least) to load an image. GraphicConverter can do everything Affinity does and faster.

Affinity photo is a one time initial purchase... I had to format my hard drive a short while ago and now I am told I need to re-purchase the program... Is there a way to bypass this by using the license key I purchased when I initially paid for the program??

4 years asking and we still can’t change the page guide colour !

As I and many others have said, the interface icons are far too small to be usable on a 5K screen. It is sooooo frustrating as it is the same for all Affinity products on the Mac.

One hell of a fine app!!! Finally a huge challenge to Adobe and other pretenders. 100% Mac app, no 32 BIT stuff buried in it. This is a gotta have. Community and Developer very, very responsive and interested in the user.

I love Affinity Photo. As a professional photographer I was able to replace Photoshop with it. Although, sometimes it crashes (not too often though). I would love the developers to improve its macro (Actions in PS) capabilities. Highly recommend AP.

Awesome photo editing software, but not that Photoshop alternative too many people say. FOR WHOM AFFINITY PHOTO IS: amateurs and freelancers can benefit a lot from Affinity Photo. For 50 bucks no photo editing software give more for the money. Since 2015, when it was released, it receives regular updates and is getting better at every year. Together with Affinity Designer (vector graphic) and Affinity Publisher (desktop publisher), it is part of a promising ecosystem. Serif did an impressive job. Those who cannot invest anymore in the Adobe CC suite can step down easily and embrace Affinity Photo, as workflows are very similar and learning curve is very smooth. According to my experience, compatibility with PSD format is good, and layers structure is generally well respected. It has all space colours (RVG, CMYK, LAB, etc.) and all photo-editing tool (pen, selection tools, liquify tool, etc.) FOR WHOM AFFINITY PHOTO IS NOT: big AD agencies, those who heavily rely on the Adobe ecosystem, and those freelancers who make real money on their job are at risk by moving to Affinity Photo. Even if tools are all present, their performance is somewhat less impressive (ex. the inpainting tool in Affinity photo is good, but in Photoshop is better; same for clone stamp tool, etc.), and the "raw persona" is much inferior to "camera raw" of Photoshop. No photo catalogue features are included. Affinity Photo claims to be fully compatible with plugins and brushes from Photoshop but, according to my experience, this compatibility doesn't work properly (or I was just unlucky). Import operations are either impossible to be completed or imported items work differently from expected. Those who have heavily invested in that must think twice before making the jump.

I tried this software for a short time. I was very impressed all round with it. I am still searching for a good software to create images for publishing books, covers for books and printable images. I may still reconsider Affinity but just not sure it will satisfy my desires. I have been using PS Elements 13 and it did not meet my needs, (no nodes or cymk colour). I want fine art as well as backgrounds. I have been trying Clip studio Pro as well.

One fine app!!! Great support. Unbelievable price. Regular updates. 100% Mac oriented. This is a gotta have for any Mac user.

Affinity now sells Designer and Photo directly from their website. Try before you buy. They have a 20% sale going on right now too. I have all three applications for macOS 10.14/10.15 and Windows 10.
