Absolute Farkle overview

Absolute Farkle is a very addictive dice game that can be played with the whole family. In this version you play against a computer opponent just waiting to give you a run for your money. Or you can play with someone else on the same computer.

You can play games using just your voice!

After you learn how to play, you can teach the whole family. All you need is a set of 6 dice.

Works with Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard without Rosetta.

I think there might be something wrong with the dice-throwing algorithms of this game. The dice seem heavily weighted in the computer's favor. I played over 50 times in demo mode and only won four times. The computer frequently reaches the scoring threshold well before the human player, building up an insurmountable lead. When the human reaches the threshold first, the computer frequently reaches on the very next turn. The game keeps stats, so one can see that the computer consistently Farkles on six dice fewer times that the human. The computer seems to get high-scoring combinations on the first roll with ease and regularity while the human would take several rolls to get the minimum. I think twenty dollars is too much to pay for the stilted graphics and sound, and clunky interface. It doesn't seem to take advantage of Mac OS APIs. It has a first-year Java student look and feel. Despite that, it could be enjoyable if it didn't seem to cheat.

A dice game for $20 and only 5-star-ratings? I suspect it*s pushed by friends of the author. It even needs Rosetta to be installed!!!!

I just bought this game in the dice version. It is simpler to learn how to play it in this electronic version. Works like the "real deal", scoring is easier and the game is just as much fun. On the plus side is you always have someone to play with with this electronic version. Good job!

If you have played Farkle you will like this game--it's a great version. Development is excellent, allowing you to adapt the game to your rules, and the author is available if you have questions about the game. Great directions. We love it and think the price is appropriate.

Game is a blast, didn't take me long watching how the computer played to catch on really quickly. Purchase went super smooth and super fast. Look forward to future updates for this game.

That last guy is nuts. This game really deserves five stars. It is fun and addictive, and the computer plays a very good game. Of course, who wouldn't like the price to be a little lower? Prices are set according to what people are willing to pay. You can't fault him for that. Again, it's an excellent game, and so is Absolute Backgammon. After over 2 years of playing it, the computer still beats me more than I beat it.

I've tried farkle on my pc and when it packed it in, searched for farkle for mac- This is what i got! Its not as polished as the other version, but still is farkle and still is addictive! you still promise yourself 'just one more game' and find yourself hours later still farkle-ing away! the edge over the competitors is that the dice arent picked out for you, so it doesnt feel like youre cheating! I Love farkle and so will you! (this version does need some work to get it up to standard as pc versions tho! despite this its still farkle and its still as addictive as any other version around)
